Lately I’ve been adding more steps to my evening skincare regimen. (I’ve got a big birthday looming, and my ego can’t take the idea of not getting carded at the wine store anymore.) On a whim, I tried the Nooni Marshmallow Whip Maker, which basically sits at the opposite end of the spectrum from my formerly simple, all-oil skincare routine. I thought it would be a fun little novelty to try out.
It has become the most anticipated part of my evening routine.
At $6 (plus the cost of cleanser), the Nooni whip maker is my new favorite affordable luxury. It’s basically a tiny little manual cream whipper that turns your cleanser into fluffy foam. But that description doesn’t do it justice.
Here’s what Memebox has to say about the whip maker:
This must-have whip maker instantly transforms any facial cleanser into a fluffy cloud of rich foam that cleanses deeply and more gently. The marshmallowy makeover upgrades your cleanser creating micro bubbles that reduce friction so the cleanser doesn’t tug on skin while cleansing, leaving your complexion fresh and not fatigued. The fluffiness is gentle and delightful on sensitive skin.
I’m not a scientist, and I can’t speak to the friction-reduction claim. Here’s what IĀ can tell you: This little gadget has me actually looking forward to washing my face every night.
Each evening after I take off my makeup with an oil cleanser, I run my water as hot as it gets and splash just a small amount into the Nooni whipper. There is a fill line marked on the container, but after some experimenting, I found that I prefer a thicker foam, which can be achieved with a lower water-to-cleanser ratio. Then I squeeze in a small amount of cleanser, pop on the plunger cap and whip up a cupful of hot, foamy face wash.
Let me tell you. When that hot foam hits my skin? It is heaven. HEAVEN. It’s like a little mini facial every night. It spreads easily over my skin, feels amazing, and rinses away easily — a single splash of water gets rid of most of it.
My face feels super-clean afterward, and honestly, I always feel refreshed and relaxed in a way that I would never have thought possible from a simple face wash. Which I know soundsĀ ridiculous, but I’m being completely serious. (And my skin looks great, too.)
You can use the Nooni Marshmallow Whip Maker with your favorite lathering cleanser. There are obviously a ton of options out there, but I’ve really enjoyed it with Secret Key Lemon Sparkling Cleansing Foam, TonyMoly Banana Cream Foam Cleanser, and TonyMoly Peach Punch Sweet Foam Cleanser. I know fragranced face washes aren’t for everyone, but for me, the fruit scent adds to the luxurious mini-facial feeling.
